Recommended Equipment

List of recommended equipment by age group
Besides layers of warm, comfortable and functional winter clothing, gloves, goggles, neck and chin warmers, ski boots that fit snugly and mandatory helmets with hard ear part we recommend the following equipment for the different age groups:

Entry Level Program  6 - 10 years
- Slalom or all mountain kids skis

- ski poles for the older kids

Kinder Program - Traditional Race  Program 11 – 15 years
- one pair longer SL or one pair shorter GS skis

- one pair all mountain skis
- race helmet with removable mouth guard for SL (mandatory)
- shin guards, pole guards
- race suit optional

Every skier should have and use a Basic Ski Tuning kit which would include:
A pair of  vices
A pair of elastics to keep the breaks out of the way
Edge File / Bevel Tool
Steel Scraper
Basic Wax
Iron

If you are not sure about what length and model skis to get or have any other equipment related questions, please, consult with our Head Coach, Helmut Spiegl.

Used equipment is available and quite all right! Check out the Ski Swap (Nov 5, 2011 at the Invermere Community Hall) and after the swap the Equipment For Sale section of the WVSC’s web site.
